Muriel Siebert – died from complications due to cancer

Muriel Siebert, 80, was the first woman to own a seat on the New York Stock Exchange. She began her financial career in 1967 with the founding of Muriel Siebert & Co. Inc. She was elected to the NYSE in December, 1967, after months of battling against unfair conditions set by members who were opposed to her joining the stock exchange.
