“The Art Of The Deal” Ghostwriter Speaks Out Against Trump

The ghostwriter behind Donald Trump's book "The Art Of The Deal" recently spoke out against Trump. Cenk Uygur, Ana Kasparian, Ben Mankiewicz (What the Flick?!) and John Iadarola (Think Tank) hosts of The Young Turks, break down the viral #GOPSoWhite hashtag from the YouTube Stage at the RNC. Tell us what you think in the comment section below.

"Tony Schwartz, who was the ghost writer for Donald Trump’s The Art of the Deal, talks to the New Yorker:

“I put lipstick on a pig,” he said. “I feel a deep sense of remorse that I contributed to presenting Trump in a way that brought him wider attention and made him more appealing than he is.” He went on, “I genuinely believe that if Trump wins and gets the nuclear codes there is an excellent possibility it will lead to the end of civilization.”

If he were writing The Art of the Deal today, Schwartz said, it would be a very different book with a very different title. Asked what he would call it, he answered, The Sociopath."*

November 2015: “There is no way Trump is going to win the Primaries!”
June 2016: “Ok Trump won the Primaries, but there is absolutely no way,
that he is going to be President!”
November 2016: “Well Trump is President now, but there is no chance that he
    will fire all those nukes!?”
January 2017:” Well maybe the civilisation ended, but there is no way that
we are listening to all those apes!”
Febuary 2017:” Yes Sir, Mister Gorilla Sir!”

I would rather hail Ceasar(from the movies), than doing anything for Trump.

So a Jewish guy, gave a scoop to the most liberal publication out there
which is pro Hillary Clinton. .

And we’re supposed to think this obvious political smear which is likely
mutually beneficial for both parties is legit???

How dumb do you think we are?

I wonder maybe…just maybe an agenda is involved…maybe some major event
involving politics and the public is happening soon…

      July 19, 2016 at 11:43 AM

Did you ever consider the fact that Trump is actually a sociopath?

Tony Schwartz has already collected his shekkels now he virtue signals, if
anyone here is guilty of sociopathy it’s him

I see an opportunist who was clearly the brain behind *The Art of the Deal*.

I dunno, I would agree with you before Trump. But anyone who can’t see how
painfully unqualified and bigoted Trump is cannot be just a person who
doesn’t know better. They have to have something wrong with them no?

contributed to ignorance. something along this line

Doesn’t surprise me at all! I have a personal story about Trump and how he
behaved during a game of golf with one of my family friends. I would love
to be able to explain it to you guys in more depth!

paid trolls are doing a disservice to Trump.

He bathes in attention, and paid trolls are doing it wrong by deflecting
    attention off him.
It’s all about Trump. That’s how narcissist he is.

Wait. So Trump didn’t actually write the art of the deal? This is just
another thing he’s slapped his name onto? I’m starting to wonder what, if
anything, Trump does. It seems like he’s just a real estate franchise. The
best that can be said for that is that he can spot talented people and
    delegate accordingly.

    • MrAngryCucaracha
      July 19, 2016 at 7:00 AM

Well to be fair the ability to spot talented people and delegate
accordingly is one of the best a president could have. He did go bankrupt
several times though and inherited his fortune, so I dont think thats true.

    • coldfusionwaffles
      July 19, 2016 at 3:06 PM

if you are having trouble determining what Trump was involved in vs. just
      slapping his name on it.
Did the company with his name go bankrupt?
Yes: Trump had a hand in day to day operations which doomed the company.
No: He attached his name and has nothing to do with it’s operation he just
gets a paycheck from it as owner.

Hillary’s just as much a liar. There are only bad options in these
Elections. But I admit that Hillary would be the better president, at least
based on what we have seen so far.

Whenever a country goes for the “strongman” leader it ends badly for them.
Why? Because the voters assume the strongman will use his tough greedy
personality to aid the country but they always just use that personality to
    aid themselves.

Well put. They also don’t know how to use rationality when the height of

+GoSu MonSteR It’s not about the hate filled sheep that worship Trump,
that’s a small minority of the US. It’s about the vast majority of

+David Kenway “Yeah I know I remember the video.”

Then why did you say they “ignored it” when you knew full well they made a
      video about it?

    • Issiahs Garcia
      July 19, 2016 at 2:09 AM

+David Kenway To be a ghost writer you actually have to spend time and talk
with the guy, a secret service agent is chopping it up with who they’re
protecting. I hate Clinton with a passion, but I take this story a lot more
seriously than the secret servant agent because he’s actually been with
Trump enough to know he’s a complete hack. If Trump is as arrogant as he
lets off, I wouldn’t want to spend enough time with him to write a book.
